19. Type tools


Only we use the Type tool to write something. Photoshop have four type tools i.e. Horizontal Type tool, Vertical Type tool, Horizontal Type Mask tool and Vertical Type Mask tool.

How to use the Horizontal Type tool:
We use the Horizontal Type tool to write horizontally.

Example:
-At first creates a new page.
-Select to the “Horizontal Type tool” icon.


-Choose a font.


-Choose font size.
-Click to the “Left Align Text”, “Left to Right Paragraph Direction” and “Set the Text Color” icon respectively.
-Choose the color then click to OK.


-Click in the page/stage where you want to type.


-Type/write as your wish.


-Then click any tools for deselect typing. Alternatively, press Ctrl + Enter.



How to use the Vertical Type tool:
We use the Vertical Type tool to write vertically.

Example:
-At first creates a new page.
-Select the Vertical Type tool.


-Click to anywhere.


-Then write anything.


-Click to the Move tool for cancel writing. Alternatively, press Ctrl + Enter.

How to use the Horizontal Type Mask tool:
We use the Horizontal Type Mask tool to see any picture/design through the text/writing by horizontally.

Example:
-At first, insert a picture.



-Select the Horizontal Type Mask tool.


-Then click to the page/stage.
-Select a font; we use “Wide Latin” as font.


-Write anything.


-Then click to any tool for cancel writing.


-Click to the Edit menu.
-Click to “Copy”.



-Create a new page.
-Click to the Edit menu.
-Click to Paste.



-If you want to edit this writing, follow the steps below.
-Click to the Edit menu.



-Click to the Free Transform.



-Then try to edit the writing.


How to use the Vertical Type Mask tool:
This tool is same as the Horizontal Type Mask tool.
